Rua Al Madinah Holding, Saudi Arabia signed four contracts with Saudi companies worth US$159.76mn during the Public Investment Fund’s Private Sector Forum.
The contracts awarded are with Al Babtain Contracting Co. to design and build four power substations, Awdah Al Biladi & Sons Contracting Co. to undertake the preliminary work on superblock 5 in addition to 2 consultancy contracts with AESG and Zuhair Fayez Partnership.
In Kuwait Heavy Engineering Industries & Shipbuilding Company (Heisco) and Mitsubishi Power JV has emerged as the lowest bidder for a tender issued by the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy for its 2,400MW Sabiya Power Plant.
The scope of work includes the modernization of steam turbines and electric generators for eight steam units at the plant.
UAE’s Azizi Developments has announced its new project, Azizi Amber, at Al Furjan Dubai.
The project will include a mix of studios, one, two, and three-bedroom apartments, as well as a variety of retail and dine-in options, landscaped walking areas, a well-equipped gymnasium, children’s play areas, two swimming pools, ample parking and 24-hour security. The development is scheduled to be completed in Q4 2024.
Q Developments in Egypt will be formally announcing its first project for the year – a coastal project in Sidi Abdel Rahman area.
It will be followed by a commercial project in Alexandria with a total investment of 229 million dollars and another project in the North Coast, with investments amounting to 91 million dollars.

It will provide an enjoyable climate-controlled all-year environment, to make walking & cycling the primary mode of transport for Dubai’s residents, in line with its new 20-minute city initiative. The aim is to make cycling & walking the primary mode of transport for daily commutes for more than 80% of Dubai’s residents by 2040. An interesting concept that may change the face of Dubai urban transport.
