Galfar Engineering & Contracting won a contract worth US$137Mn for road dualisation work linking Al Ansab and Al Jafnain roads in Seeb region In Oman. The scope of work includes upgrading of the road to three lanes each way from Falaj Al Sham in Bausher to Al Jafnain in Seeb.
Meydan Group has appointed Parkway International Contracting for the construction of Opal Gardens, located within District 11, Mohammed Bin Rashid al Maktoum City, Dubai. The 24-month contract involves the construction of 435 villas and townhouses, as well as a clubhouse, mosque, guardhouses, a crystal lagoon, infrastructure and landscaping works.
OMNIYAT has officially unveiled its latest luxury project, ORLA Infinity, Dorchester Collection, comprising 20 duplex residences in Palm Jumeirah, Dubai. The project team includes services managed by Dorchester Collection, architectural design by Foster + Partners, interior design by YODEZEEN, and landscaping by ZED Collective.
Qatar – Zaha Hadid Architects, a leading architectural firm based in London, UK, has signed an agreement with Qatar-based Qetaifan Projects and JMJ Group Holding to design multi-use buildings for seven medium-rise plots of land overlooking the southern waterfront of Qetaifan Island North in Doha. The project will cover a land area that spans approximately 40,000 sq m, with an investment value of up to US$265Mn.
Abu Dhabi-based Aldar Properties said it sold out the first two phases of Haven by Aldar, a project we reported last week, with more than three-quarters of the units being snapped up by foreign investors and expat residents.
The master developer launched 468 units in the first phase and 318 units in the second phase. In total selling 786 villas and townhouses at the development stage, generating over US$840Mn in sales. It is the first residential development in Dubai by the company.
Kuwait has allocated nearly US$2.9Bn for 20 large projects in its current fiscal year. The 20 projects include Kuwait’s airport expansion at a cost of around US$522Mn, with the project expected to be completed in September 2024.
Other project spending includes Matla residential city valued at US$472Mn, Al-Zour oil refinery with allocations of US$280Mn, Al-Sabah University, two other housing projects, Al-Addan Hospital, a new Medical City, and Al-Shuaiba Port expansion.
Oxagon, Neom’s advanced manufacturing and innovation city, announced it had broken ground on its research and innovation campus, designed by the renowned architect Grimshaw and engineered by international consultancy firm Buro Happold. Situated at the heart of the research and innovation district, the campus will span over 200,000 sq m.
