PowerChina announced that it was awarded an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for the development of the 500MW capacity Wa’ad Alshamal Wind Project in Saudi Arabia. The contract was awarded by a consortium led by Marubeni Corporation and local Abdulaziz Al Ajlan Sons Company for Commercial and Real Estate Investment – Ajlan & Bros.
In Bahrain Nass Contracting Company and its joint venture partner Nassir Hazza Al Subaie for Contracting has secured the order for the Busaiteen Link Package 3 Project valued at US$98 Mn.
The scope of work includes the construction of an 8.3-km-long dual four-lane main highway, a 2.4km associated dual carriageway, three storm surface water lifting stations, and also provide adjustment to airport runway approach lights in addition to all associated works.
In Oman, Dar Global awarded two contracts worth US$61 Mn for the first phase of its AIDA project. The contracts included a US$36 Mn main works package for Phase 1 villas awarded to Towell Construction & Co., and an infrastructure works contract worth US$24 Mn to Oman Shapoorji Company.
In another development, Dar Global unveiled a mega-luxury real estate development in partnership with the Trump Organization with an investment of US$500 Mn.
The Trump International Oman will feature a 140-key, 5-star hotel complex and will include an 18-hole championship golf course. The complex will have unique hanging suites, opulent furnished villas, and serviced apartments with all guests having complimentary access to a private beach.
Galfar Engineering & Contracting announced that was awarded a contract by Grand Blue City Development Company SAOG for the construction of marine works. Valued at $31.1 million. The project scope includes the construction of marine infrastructure in Grand Blue City, located in Al Sawadi in the South Al Batinah Governorate and to be completed in 24 months.
In UAE, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, approved a $8.16bn project to develop Dubai’s rainwater drainage network. Known as Tasreef, the project is expected to enhance the capacity of Dubai’s rainwater drainage system by 700%, covering all areas of the emirate, and will be the largest rainwater collection project in a single system in the region.
SSH was appointed as the lead consultant by Shamal Holding for its Dubai Harbour Residences, an ultra-luxury mixed-use development featuring upscale hotels as well as both branded and unbranded residences.
The low-rise residential complex with access to a private beach will feature a variety of apartments and penthouses. SSH will be working with architect Nikken Sekkei and H&H Development as the development manager.
