In Saudi Arabia, Dallah Healthcare Company awarded Youssef Marroun Contracting Company a contract for construction, electromechanical and finishing works for Al-Arid Hospital in Riyadh. The contract is valued at US$184 Mn with a duration of 24 months.
Diriyah Company awarded its largest single contract to date, a US$2bn infrastructure contract to construct a new mixed-use district in the north of the Diriyah project. The contract was awarded to El Seif Engineering Contracting Company (ESEC) and China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) and will include construction of educational institutions, cultural venues, modern offices, and a luxury hotel.
Designs of the world’s tallest sports tower, The Global Sports Tower rising 130m high was unveiled in the Kingdom with one of the world’s highest running tracks at 250m and the highest indoor climbing wall at 98 metres. Spanning 84,000 square metres, the tower will house over 30 different sports facilities.
Mining development company Critical Metals has formalised a joint venture (JV) deal with the Obeikan Group to construct a lithium hydroxide processing plant in Saudi Arabia. The 50/50 JV TO BE NAMED Arabian New Energy aims to develop, build and commission the facility, which will process lithium spodumene concentrate from Austria’s Wolfsberg Lithium Project.
In UAE, Ras Al Khaimah-based developer Marjan unveiled its latest project, La Mer by Elie Saab Residences to be located on Al Marjan Island. The property comprising three interconnected towers and developed by ARTE Developments, will be designed by Dewan Architects & Engineers and will feature interiors designed by the Elie Saab maison.
Bahrain’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning awarded a contract to China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) valued at US$315.7 Mn for the third phase of the East Sitra housing project. As per the contract, CMEC will construct 1,269 new housing units as well as secondary infrastructure.
Oman Tourism Development Company SAOC (Omran) invited Expressions of Interest (EOI’s) to participate in the Pre-Qualification Process for the main construction works consisting of the Four Seasons Development and other medium to large scale developments. The development located in Muscat governorate will consist of 200 keys luxury 5-star hotel, 91 Branded luxury apartments, F&B outlets and high end retail outlets. EoI submission closing date is 18 July 2024.
