Arada Awards Two Contracts for building 565 homes

In UAE, Arada Developments awarded two contracts valued at $168Mn to build 565 homes in Azalea, the fourth phase of Masaar development in Sharjah. The contracts were awarded to Saleh Construction, to build 324 homes, and Yanal Building Contracting Company, which will build 241 homes.

Abu Dhabi to develop Waste-to-Energy Plant

A joint venture of ALEC Engineering and Contracting (ALEC) and BUTEC has secured the contract to develop Abu Dhabi’s inaugural waste-to-energy (WtE) plant. The joint venture, known as ALEC BUTEC with Switzarland’s Hitachi Zosen Innova (HZI) will spearhead the construction of the groundbreaking project. The incineration facility will be situated near the Al-Dhafra landfill and will process 900,000 tonnes of non-recyclable waste annually over the next 30 years.

Emirates Water and Electricity Company issues RFP

Emirates Water and Electricity Company, EWEC has issued a Request for Proposals to qualified developers and consortiums that have expressed interest in developing the 1,500-megawatt (MW) Khazna Solar Photovoltaic (PV) project, located in the Al Khazna area of Abu Dhabi. Responses to the RFP are expected in Q3 2024.

Roads and Transport Authority awards Contract to Wade Adams

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced that it has awarded Wade Adams Contracting a contract to construct the Al Khaleej Street Tunnel Project. Extending from the end of the ramp of Infinity Bridge in Deira to the intersection of Al Khaleej and Cairo Streets, the tunnel has six lanes stretching 1,650 metres and can accommodate up to 12,000 vehicles per hour in both directions.

Ministry of Transport Oman signs an agreement worth $205Mn.

In Oman, the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology signed an agreement worth $205 Mn for the design, implementation, and finalization of the first phase of Al Batinah Coastal Road. The contract was awarded to Consolidated Contractors Company Oman and covers 30 km of road, 22 km from Barka to Suwaiq port, and 8 km from Sohar port to Khatmat Milaha.

Knowledge Economic City signs two contracts worth $77Mn.

In Saudi Arabia, the Knowledge Economic City announced it has signed two contracts with ElKhereiji Commerce & Contracting Co. for a total of $77 million. The first contract includes implementing all contracting work of four residential buildings, with 132 residential units of the Al-Alya mixed-use project. The second contract is for the electromechanical, finishing, and landscaping works for eight residential buildings, providing 264 residential apartments, currently being implemented within the first phase of Al-Alya project.

Hassan Allam secures a contract for the Marina Hotel

Egypt’s Hassan Allam Holding’s Saudi unit secured an additional contract for the Marina Hotel in Saudi Arabia’s Amaala Triple Bay. Hassan Allam’s scope includes roads and paving, irrigation network, electrical MV network, ELV/ICT/GSM containment works, and all other utilities, as well as external signage and wayfinding installations.
