South Korea’s Doosan Enerbility has won the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for Shuaibah 3 Independent Water Project in Saudi Arabia, reports said. The Shuaibah 3 IWP aims to establish the world’s largest reverse osmosis desalination facility located 110 km south of Jeddah capable of producing 600,000 cu m of water per day and a 60 MW solar power plant.

Jeddah Central Project has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Cruise Saudi. The deal will see the companies design a new international luxury cruise terminal for the JCP. Cruise Saudi is said to be a specialist in cruise ecosystem development and is wholly-owned by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF). In addition to working together on the design of the cruise terminal, the two companies will also collaborate on the marina that is taking shape at the JCP.
The Dubai-listed developer Union Properties maintains its turnaround strategy is accelerating, as the company posted a Q2 2022 profit of $77,603. The company, however, has reported accumulated losses of $789 million, equivalent to 68.55% of capital. Revenue for the first quarter was $26.89 million according to financial results posted on the Dubai Financial Market.Among other initiatives, the company said it had started design and engineering work for major infrastructure upgrade projects within its flagship development, Motor City. Amer Khansaheb, board member and managing director of Union Properties said “the company continues to implement a business transformation culture aimed at improving the overall efficiency and productivity of the business through better utilization of resources and deployment of advanced technology”.
Aramco has signed a memorandum of understanding with China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec) covering multiple areas of potential collaboration between the parties in Saudi Arabia. The MoU outlines pathways for strategic cooperation between Aramco and Sinopec and supports the long-term relationship between the two companies and their existing joint ventures in China and in the kingdom.
In Oman, Dhofar Municipality has issued three tenders for developmental projects to expand some of the vital roads that are experiencing congestion and traffic jams in the Governorate of Dhofar.” The first project is the construction of the Atin Roundabout Tunnel, which was designed to address the traffic jams on Atin Street and 18 November Street, taking into account the aesthetic elements of the design.
