Brazil’s Vale signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Saudi Arabia’s National Industrial Development Center to jointly study a Mega Hub development in the form of a 4 Mt/y capacity high-quality iron ore pellet production facility.
Vale also signed an MoU with the Emirates Steel Arkan to jointly study a Mega Hub development at Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi.
And another MoU with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion in Oman to jointly study a Mega Hub development at the Special Economic Zone at Duqm.
Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman launched Ceer, the first Saudi electric vehicle brand. Ceer will design, manufacture, and sell a range of vehicles including sedans and sports utility vehicles for consumers in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East and North Africa region.
Ceer vehicles will be manufactured in the KSA and scheduled to be available by 2025.
Kuwait’s Agility said it will invest US$163m to build a warehousing complex near Jeddah. Construction of the Agility Logistics Park will start in the first quarter of 2023 and the opening is scheduled for the first quarter of 2025.
Omani upstream energy firm ARA Petroleum says it has teamed up with Austrian solar engineering specialist Heliovis to set up what is billed as the world’s first solar-thermally powered, zero emission water desalination plant in the Sultanate of Oman.
The plant, to be built at the Qarat al Milh oilfield, will produce up to 140m³ of drinking water per day from highly saline produced water.
Schneider Electric and UAE-based Arab Development Establishment have signed a strategic agreement to manufacture power and energy technology solutions in the UAE. The agreement was signed at the ADIPEC 2022 concluded last week in Abu Dhabi.
As part of the agreement, Schneider Electric will manufacture a range of highly advanced energy automation solutions and integrated power solutions, including production switchgear and control panel integrations, as well as energy automation design and engineering.
The Sharjah Executive Council has issued a decision, allowing full ownership with no time restrictions in real estate projects to all nationalities.
The decree allows citizens of any country to own real estate of all kinds and uses in Sharjah. This is expected to boost the real estate industry as well as projects for the emirate of Sharjah.
